Persona 5 Flu Season: Why it’s important to know when it is

Do you want to kill the Reaper in Persona 5? Well, all you have to do is wait for the flu season.

When you first start playing Persona 5, it’s kind of tricky to move up the ladder and get some good prizes. But by defeating one boss, the Reaper, during the Persona 5 flu season, you’ll get access to one special prize and one accessory. So, how do you beat him and what do you get? Let’s find out.

What is the Persona 5 Flu Season?

After scouring the forums, we found that the flu season in Persona 5 usually falls on the 13th, 14th, and 15th every November. It can also take place on the 8th and 9th of December. During this time, you can easily defeat one of the most difficult bosses in the game — the Reaper.

Defeating the Reaper

As you know, there are countless monsters lurking in Mementos, including the Reaper. Now, during flu season, some of them can “catch the flu” and they’ll be afflicted with the Despair status. If a monster is in Despair, they lose their will to fight, making them much easier to defeat.

Along with the Reaper, you’ll be able to tackle and defeat any monster in only three turns. As you know, he will try and attack you if you’re being idle and just standing around. So, all you have to do is go into Mementos and wait for the monster to show up.

But if he appears in front of you and doesn’t have the Despair status, you better get out of there fast. If the Reaper doesn’t have the flu, he’ll be able to defeat you in a few swift moves.

The Prizes

Assuming all goes well and you beat the monster during the Persona 5 flu season, you will get a “Unique Rebel” trophy and the “Divine Pillar” accessory. With the accessory, you can reduce 50% of the total damage inflicted on you in exchange for your ability to dodge.
